Zanzibar Clove Cigars Xtreme

I have been smoking cloves for years and these were a nice change at a really good price--excellent service from this company as well!

These taste so close to Sampoerna Xtra's without the sugar paper. So much better than Djarum Blacks. I'm so pleased to have a clove that resembles what I started with years ago.

A side by side comparison of Zanzibar with Djarum Black clearly highlights the effort to capture every aspect of the packaging and draw in the habitual Djarum smoker. It's a clear knock-off, and I don't say that disparagingly as I hold no loyalty to a product if a better option is available. Unfortunately, Zanzibar's are not a better option to Djarum. The carton I received were noticeably stale, with only a hint of clove aroma, and an especially harsh tobacco mixture with difficult draw and a taste that made me recoil. I tried smoking three of the little cigars but I couldn't complete a single smoke before tossing each one. I finally wound up giving away the rest to friends who could begrudgingly tolerate them. "If they weren't free... /cough/" became the tagline among the recipients. Spend the extra money and go with a clove you already know and love. These are awful and will disappoint you.
